Spreads Laying a certain number of cards in a certain pattern is called a "spread". Maybe you already have been lurking the spread pages here at Anjas Tarot, which is actually a rather great place to discover that you can make your own spreads i.e. most of these spreads are home made and shared by tarot readers world wide. Your daily draw is what is building up your confidence in reading the card (read looking at the card and say what is there). When looking at a spread, the cards are numbered 1-2-3-4... and each card has a position meaning. F.ex. 1-the situation, 2-obstacle, 3-others, 4-influences. Position 1 would then tell you something about "why you are doing this
reading" First spread I would recommend you to try out is the famous "3 card spread". Learning how to read 3 cards in one story. Let us do the PPF spread. PPF is a past, present and future spread. The PPF-spread is properly the 3 card spread most spreads are built on. It is the one readers through out the world is "breast-fed" with, the one used for learning how to interpretate more than one card at the time, to see the line and the story in multiple cards in a pattern - a spread.
Card 1: Represents your past - depending on your question this card will tell what is there in experience, memory, the fool's backpack. Card 2: Represents your present situation, properly this card is telling you the deepest truth about why you are doing this reading in the first place. Card 3: Represents near future, do what you feel right to do and let the cards guide you in the way you may see fit, in about one month from here, you should be able to look back at the reading and see the red thread. First times you are doing this readings, you really should be doing it only to learn and get comfortable with your intuition and believe in your self. Do not let it scare you off, if the readings makes absolute no sense what so ever, it do not matter as you are just learning. On the other hand, you should not let it spook you, if you get the bulls-eye in your first reading either - really depends on how close you are to your inner voice and how well you are to listen to it. You will get that itchy feeling when it is time to move on to bigger spreads - my opinion is that you do your daily draws and writing them in your journal for at least 3-6 weeks or so, and do the 3carders for something like 6 months, before moving on. 3carders can be very profound, so you are not missing out on any fun here *grin* Next: Final touch 1
