The Court Cards as the minors are divided in the 4 suits Pentacles, Cups, Swords and Wands. For the court cards I prefer to call the suits “families” as each suit, family has 4 members: King, Queen, Knight and Page. This gives 16 different personalities for the cards to show and many readers do make great efforts in telling you about what kind of persons or personalities you have in your environment at the time of the reading. Though I feel, and of course this is only my opinion, that to get the connections about you having a dark haired, green eyed woman around you it should be very clear in the cards to actually be the issue. In my experience the connection of the personalities could just as well be sides of your own personality or qualities you are surrounded with represented by a court card. As for the basic meaning of each family member you will see that: The King is the father, the boss, the ruler, the provider, the one watching over his family and taking care of their needs. The Queen is the mother, the one that keeps the family together, the one nurturing and taking care of the household and all the sub boss tasks so to speak. The Knight is the young man making things happen. He moves rapidly and is very difficult to get a hold on. He is the one taking actions and follows up on plans and dreams and try very hard to make it all come true. The Page is the child of the family, (s)he has all the potentials of the family, though have still not figured out where and what they will use the potentials for. As the saying goes “ To hear the truth ask a child” all the pages is the possible messengers of letters, messages or other kind of news being brought to the one being read for. [Top] Page of Pentacles: Page of Pentacles is the ever lasting student, where ever there is an college or university with a new class, it is likely that you will see the young page submit to all of them. The eager to learn and expand inner knowledge is in very high value for the page, though it also has is shadow side. Because students who never sees to finish the schooling process have or could have the hidden desire of never having to grow up and take responsibilities of all the knowledge they have gained. When this card comes in reversed, there is something hidden in the inner self. The page can not be bothered with all that school and chores, nor does it seem that the person is growing up as it is the page. It is more likely that you will see them hit the town, throw wild parties, or even sit at a little joint discussing world wide potentials and plans, that will never leave the room.
Knight of Pentacles: The Knight usually is the handy man, the one that can fix everything and do it with an eager and perfectionism that is rare to come by. He is the one who can take apart even the greatest of machines and put them back together again with out screws and bolts in spare once done. But when he shows in reverse, you might want to check the work he is doing, that he has not put the machine back together by using tape and clue. Because when this young man is imbalanced he gets careless and slobby. Saves for tomorrow what he could have done today.
Queen of Pentacles: The Queen which is the mother of these earthly people usually is a very strong woman, creative and full of life. Though when she gets imbalanced she will search with in, answer you with one word sentences and keep all her frustration to her self. Creativeness will fade in to some half-hearted attempts and nothing seems to be working for her. If you search for a way to get behind the very closed and sad façade of hers it will most likely be the most beneficial for both of you if you cleaned the house and made the environment nice to be in first, then there should be a small possibility that she will let you in on her thoughts and frustration.
King of Pentacles: Emotions has got the better of me, I find it very difficult to stay objective and calm in this situation. My ego was getting to big, thought I could handle everything. I realize that it is not me who should be the one carrying the responsibility in this situation, someone around me would be far more suited for this task. I want to be in control both financially, emotionally and physically - but I'm not anymore - my confidence in knowing what I did made me slobby taking a rest while I should have kept an eye on the development, it has run out of my reach to control. I need to regain ground. [Top] Page of Cups: The Page of Cups is the young child that is very eager about every one and everything in life. (S)he is holding a cup where a fish is jumping around in, and the page stands all still and quite and just watches what happens with and around that fish. In reversed the page is having a very hard time just standing there and let the fish do its thing. Meaning that the page would very much like to help the fish – life to happen just a tad faster. As it is a child’s nature to have curiosity and a wild imaginations, the page just can not wait to see what the next minute brings, and it is as if (S)he would set the clock for what ever time they want, though we can not do that, so the page reversed is telling us like the Empress, that we need to let things take their time and develop in their own paste.
Knight of Cups: The knight of Cups is the big lover boy in tarot. Prince Charming on the white horse, ready to woo and conquer all women on his path. Up right you do not get all that commitment from him, he loves the chase though when it comes to duties and obligations, family-in-laws and the works, the only thing you are most likely to see of him is his back running screaming out the door. When reversed he begins to show some potentials as the future husband who does not mind changing a few bad smelling diapers on the way. You might even get him to do the dishes if you are real nice to him :o) Though this is not the only abilities he gets when reversed. This happy and very out going man could be imbalanced, and as I see an imbalanced lover boy, he begins to feel sorry for him self, get insecure, acting like a loud and very insecure man, who really can annoy anyone on his way. And again here's the "I can do anything" daydreamer. He's making all these great and spectacular plans for tomorrow. He lives in a fairytale, where no energy is required, thinking that the everyday life is boring and worthless living. This card is stating, that *waiting* for the prince just doesn't cut it - you have to be a bit more active getting what you want.
Queen of Cups: There was a
time when I felt free like a mermaid in the calm oceans. I was able to teach everybody about love, how to love, how to receive love, how to give love, how to share love. Now I find my self sitting here wondering where they all went. My heart is still filled with love, but there is no longer any one to receive it. Could it be that I love so much that I suffocate them ? Or do I not love enough ? Oh dear, I do feel I'm walking in an emotional desert, seem I'm all alone and all I can give my love to is my own reflection of being in love. I will have to find the key, the path, the way back to time, where I knew how much to love and when. I suffocate my self in good attentions. I become the woman who strives to make everything perfect, can't they see how hard I work just to make them happy ? Why wont they acknowledge me for whose I am - queen of love.
King of Cups: The King of Cups is the father that handles his family with care and love. A truly patient and calm loving man, that can see through any misfortunate mood or situation. Though if you look closely at the Waite Smith card you will notice that even if the king is seated in his throne and does balance the wild oceans, his one foot is almost touching the waters, and he could at any time jump the ocean and take an emotional roller coaster ride along with all the rest he is usually guiding through these. In reversed the king becomes this stubborn little child, like the Emperor he wants to have it his way or no way at all. If he can not have it all he will for sure jump the ocean at purpose and just let the rest worry about how and when emotions should be tempered. The likeness of you actually hearing him complain is not all that big, this man would suffer in side, and get very quite. There could go days and even weeks, before you would notice him being imbalanced, if you are not giving all that attentions to his needs and moods. [Top] Page of Swords: As the page is a child, the ever so on guard scout here might have some serious nightmares feeling they get haunted by all sorts of monsters. If the page represents an adult, then this person could be suffering from light to severe paranoia, and it would be necessary to take it easy, so the picture can get clear. This could indicate an unhealthy or even psychotic person who inside lives in fear for everyone and everything, including them selves.
Knight of Swords: When a man of strong principals and will gets imbalanced there is no telling what he will do. Maybe he will still stand strong in a fight, even fight for death, but there is no guaranty that he actually believes in what he is fighting so hard for. Maybe he is fighting your fight because today he thinks you are cute company, but what happens tomorrow when the cuteness has worn of ? Maybe you want to reconsider who you let fight your battles, and for whom you fight for, make sure it is worth it in the long run. Here is the coward, the opportunist who always jumps to the winner side. Sometimes you even see him on both sides until the end, when the outcome is clear. He can also turn around and be the realistic young man who see both sides to the story and is willing to do a compromise. This card is allowing you to change direction.
Queen of Swords: A
mother of swords imbalanced is not the woman you want to cross. This otherwise so strong and firm woman will get all muttered and hard to figure out. Still trying to rule with logic and fairness, how ever letting her own emotions over rule her mind, her decisions and ruling might become very unfair and incomprehensible. If this card shows up and relate to you the card is telling you that you are doing the impossible namely ruling with your heart and feeling with your thoughts, nothing good will come from that situation.
King of Swords: I used to
be the rational and dead steady man everyone was coming to Now I'm the one needing some pieces of
advise, but I'll just
sit here in my throne and pretend everything is as I feel like dancing - put on your happy face and lets hit the town. Who said
duties ? Narh not for me, I feel like being Hey
anything you say may and will be taken as an Yeah so I'm imbalanced - so what ??? want to make something of it !!!! [Top] Page of Wands: As the messenger always on the road there lies a lot of security and comfort in finding things and situations you already know and are quite familiar with. Though keep up attention because when page of wands, the child never in the house and never around to catch, all of a sudden sticks to home and what they know, something is defiantly wrong. Also watch out for the danger of being kept in too familiar surroundings, if they start to bore you, you might end up being disloyal, if a love situation this card could warn about infidelity even.
Knight of Wands: I was the
man of action, I was going somewhere. I was on fire, I was charging ahead on my path, wanted to see something, experience life. I was a man of passions. Now it seems like my horse is doing all the running, and I really don't care - I just want to be left alone. Who cares about life out side this room ? I need time alone, I have been spreading my self all over the map - I need this to get hold of my self - stop meddling with my time please, stop trying to make me please all of you with what you think I should spend my life on. I need to find my self. What is the meaning anyway ? Show me some facts, some results, some hard proven evidence for why I should stand out side again and proceed with life. Now he is stubborn child who wants facts and results, proves before moving
anywhere, changing his clothe or his opinions.
Queen of Wands: Mother of passions and deep understanding for how make life good for everybody. A true homemaker and housewife. Throw her of balance or make her feel insufficient you will get a woman lying on the couch all day doing nothing and even feel bad about it. This one does not suffer in silence so you wont be the least unsure when she is having a bad day, she will whine and complain till it is over, and when it is she will go on as if nothing ever happened. Until next time.
King of Wands: Father of passions is another one you do not want to cross. He has his own ways of doing things and you keep questioning them to his annoyance you will end up in a none existing realm, where he wont hear nor see you. He is having a very hard time viewing other’s passions as any good, if they are not like his or speaks to his interest. [Top] |
